RoCA is proud to present the county’s only Exhibition Based Visual Arts-in-Education Program, thanks to charitable grants from organizations such as Key Bank, TD Bank, NEA and ACOR.
RoCA’s interactive exhibit tours foster children’s creativity and critical thinking skills by
linking subjects taught in the schools with themes and concepts found in RoCA’s contemporary art exhibitions.
This view-it-and-do-it program includes pre-visit meetings and written curriculum guides, special guided tours of RoCA’s Catherine Konner Sculpture Park and Emerson Gallery exhibitions, and hands-on workshops in the Center’s studios with our professional museum educator. While exploring the works on view, participants sharpen their verbal, visual and analytical skills as well as gain greater understanding of the methods and expressions found in contemporary art.
After completing their exhibition inspired projects, students have lunch at the Center, discuss the program and process what they have learned. More than 3,000 students have participated in the program to date.

RoCA Gratefully acknowledges support from the Arts Fund for Rockland, a Project of the Arts Council of Rockland.
RoCa's programs and exhibitions are also made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts
with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
