It's old…it's an heirloom…, it's been in the family for generations…you picked it up for a song at a flea market … and you've been wondering what it's worth. Find out if what you treasure is a real treasure at the "Rockland Roadshow" Antiques Appraisal Day on Sunday, January 27, 2002, from 10:00am to 5:00pm. The appraisal day, sponsored by Rockland Center for the Arts, will be held at Yonderhill Antiques on Route 9W in Palisades, New York just north of the Bergen County border.

William W. Stahl, Jr., Vice Chairman of Sotheby's who oversees all aspects of the Decorative Arts in New York, will expertly appraise your antiques. He is joined by Ronald Bourgeault, noted appraiser of American and European art and antiques and owner of Northeast Auctions in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, one of New England's leading antiques auction houses. Specialists Edie and Joel Frankel of E&J Frankel on Madison Ave. in New York City will appraise oriental antiques.

Among the array of antique decorative objects that may be brought in for appraisals are old paintings and prints, furniture, glass and tableware, clocks, manuscripts, heirloom jewelry and other items of your choice.

The Rockland Center for the Arts is also hosting an Antiques Appraisal Benefit Party on Saturday, January 26, 2002 from 6:00pm to 10:00pm at Yonderhill Antiques, located in a recently restored, Greek revival-style historic building. A benefit ticket of $50 per person includes an hors d'oeuvres and dessert buffet with wine; expert appraisal of one object, and an illustrated lecture and demonstration on the history of faux finishes. Antiques dealers and connoisseurs, Rubens Teles and James Adams, will give the lecture. Advance reservations are required for Saturday's event. All proceeds from both days' activities will benefit the  Rockland Center for the Arts educational and presenting programs.
