Summer Arts Day Camp @ RoCA!

For 51 seasons, the camp experience at the Rockland Center for the Arts (RoCA) has been turning summer “sun” days into creative “fun” days for children ages 5 through 12. RoCA’s ten wooded acres, spacious gallery, and fully equipped, air conditioned art studios are the site of our programs. Campers, under the supervision of professional adult instructors and caring counselors, learn in a hands-on, non-competitive environment where personal development, confidence, creativity and group cooperation are encouraged.

    • Children are grouped by age. All classes are geared to the developmental, intellectual and motor skills of that particular age group.

    • Each session of this creative day camp is based on a different theme, and children learn to express their ideas through a variety of art forms.

    • Join us and see why Rockland Center for the Arts is one of the areas most sought after, unique and praised day camps.

The Sculpture Park!

RoCA’s unique Catherine Konner Sculpture Park will be part of your child’s day camp experience. Offered only at RoCA, your child will learn to appreciate sculpture by professional artists and use the works to inspire creative projects of their own. An exhibiting sculptor will be a guest instructor and lead campers in a project.

Friday Theatre Program

RoCA’s four day program includes Fridays, which have a Musical Theatre focus. Campers learn music, dance, and drama, and create props, costumes, and scenery for their end of session performance, featuring lively numbers from a Broadway show. Past selections have included Peter Pan, Mary Poppins, Bye Bye Birdie, and the Sound of Music.

Swimming

Campers enjoy recreational and instructional swimming daily, weather permitting, in our large, sparkling pool. Children learn safety, sportsmanship, and swimming skills. Games such as water polo and relay races reinforce these basics. The swimming program is under the supervision of an adult specialist who is a certified professional rescuer trained in CPR and first aid. Camp lifeguards are BLS certified. A camp medical director is on site.

Field Games

The children participate in supervised outdoor activities on our two-acre field. Non-competitive field games round out the program and give children plenty of wholesome physical activity. Our camp is proud to maintain a consistent 5:1 camper to counselor ratio.
